Windsor, Connecticut – Tsugami/Rem Sales’ Tsugami SS38MH-5AX is a 38mm chucker-convertible, B-axis sliding headstock CNC lathe that performs full 5-axis machining.

The Tsugami SS38MH-5AX features a 40-tool magazine, 10 tools on the back tool post, and an optional 2 tools on the deep-hole drill holder as well as linear glass scales on the X1-, Y1-, Z1-, and X2-axis slides. It features a FANUC 31i-B5 control.

This machine’s backworking overlap with live tool capability allows for multiple tools in the cut, and shorter cycle times. This extremely versatile machine weighs in at just over 15,000 lb.

The Tsugami SS38MH-5AX makes it possible to machine the most complex shaped parts from barstock complete, in no time and corresponds to heavy-duty cutting by dual contact holder using CAPTO C4. The linear glass scales on the X1, Y1, and Z1 axis slide is provided as standard, for ensured high accuracy machining and repeatability.
