Single spline hobbing can be performed on a VT 2 vertical lathe for shafts. Machining is performed on up to four axes at up to 6,000rpm. Two turrets with 12 tool stations each are equipped with turning or driven tools.
VL and VT machines feature integrated automation for transporting workpieces. When combined with the self-loading pick-up spindles, automation shortens cycle times and increases productivity.
While the standard lathes are commonly used for gear blanks, a wide range of technologies can be incorporated into the machines, including turning, grinding, hobbing, chamfering, induction hardening, and laser welding.
