Safety company Humanetics buys FrontTone

Crash sled equipment joins test dummies at combined company.

Plymouth, Michigan – Crash-test dummies producer Humanetics Innovative Solutions Inc., has purchased FronTone GmbH, a manufacturer of advanced safety test equipment. Klaus Matlschweiger will continue to lead FronTone as managing director, along with the other members of the existing leadership team from its headquarters in Graz, Austria. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

FronTone’s portfolio includes test equipment including dynamic sled, door intrusion, roof crush, and pedestrian and occupant protection test systems. Its patented, frictionless electric E-Liner drive system offers a testing process that proves precise and reproducible test results. Founded in 2008, FronTone’s customer list includess Daimler, BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo, Opel/GM, and Jaguar Land Rover as well as a number of automotive suppliers.
