Ford earns $10.8 billion in 2015

Automaker expects repeat performance in 2016.

Dearborn, Michigan – Ford Motor Co. earned money in every global region except South America last year, bringing in a whopping $10.8 billion in profits, triggering $9,300 profit-sharing checks to workers throughout North America.

Between big truck sales numbers, changes to pension accounting, and general strength throughout the year, the massive profit numbers are hardly surprising, and Ford officials say they expect to have similar earnings this year.

“We promised a breakthrough year in 2015, and we delivered,” says CEO Mark Fields.
