TÜV SÜD offers squeak and rattle testing services in Michigan

Peabody, Massachusetts – Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs that manufacture interior systems for vehicles now have access to a servo electric actuator (SEA) based four poster system for identifying and resolving buzz, squeak, and rattle (BSR) on a part time basis.

The precision SEA technology that TÜV SÜD designed features a unique 330mm stroke and in addition to BSR testing can also be utilized for noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) as well as durability testing. Avoid the significant investment in a new technology four poster and schedule time at the TÜV SÜD lab in Auburn Hills, Michigan, at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a system.

Customers booking time on the most advanced and silent four poster on the market get the added advantage of third party expertise from the TÜV SÜD OnSite testing services team. Having partnered with top tier automakers for more than twenty years the OnSite team delivers testing services, root cause analysis and resolutions with a fresh and specialized perspective.

“As part of the expansion and increased capacity at our Auburn Hills facility we are excited to offer short-term solutions for BSR investigations,” states Darryl Fleger, global business line manager, TÜV SÜD Canada.

“Customers want to position their product as one of quality in the competitive automotive market and BSR is a top contributor to customer dissatisfaction. Easy access to a top notch test system along with third party OnSite expertise will be a game changer in Northern Detroit, and the entire NAFTA region,” explains Vicki Adams, sales manager-transportation services, TÜV SÜD America Inc.

TÜV SÜD’s Equipment Solutions & Technology (EST) group designs and builds custom solutions for BSR, NVH, and other unique vehicular testing. The new Servo Electric Actuator four poster systems are deployed at many automakers worldwide, but offering a system for short term solutions is a new option. Customers can now try out an SEA system to experience the benefits over hydraulic or electromagnetic systems in all performance.
